James Moroney| | Louisiana State University
Jim Moroney is the Streva Alumni Professor at Louisiana State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from University at Buffalo and his doctorate from Cornell University. His work has been published over a hundred times in journals like Science and Plant Physiology. Jim studies mechanisms which improve CO2 delivery to Rubisco in C3 crop plants. His research focuses on determining which isoforms of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase are important to the delivery of CO2 to the chloroplast in C3 plants for photosynthesis and understanding which proteins in the CO2 concentrating mechanism of algae are important in concentrating CO2 at the site of Rubisco.
