This year's Plant Genomes in a Changing Environment conference will be held on October 12-14. In light of the ongoing situation with Covid-19, the conference will be organized virtually, encouraging a reach to a wider audience. This meeting's focus is bringing together plant scientists who are working on the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and discussing any recent advances or discoveries in plant genome biology.

Plant sciences have garnered increasing amounts of attention for their role in addressing our global challenges, particularly climate change and its effects on food productivity and food security. The use of whole genome data has allowed researchers to advance the understanding of plant development and apply it to the real word by producing healthier foods in a more sustainable way while taking into consideration of future climate conditions. 

Amongst other speakers, RIPE Director Stephen Long, Ikenberry Endowed University Chair of Crop Sciences and Plant Biology, will be presenting his talk at the conference, providing a platform for connecting researchers and transferring knowledge of diverse plant systems.
