Lynnicia Massenburg

Research Assistant Lynnicia Massenburg is an Academic Researcher at the University of Illinois. Lynn interned at research institutions all across the U.S. after she received her BS in Biotechnology from Rutgers University, and is currently working on her Ph.D. at the University of Illinois. Her work has been published in Plant Science and the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology. She was also the recipient of multiple fellowships, including the National Science Foundation GRFP Fellowship. Lynn has a particular interest in increasing photosynthetic efficiency, oil production and cellulosic breakdown capability. With the RIPE Project, she will focus on increasing the photosynthetic efficiency of cassava, a major food security crop in Africa. She will target key photosynthesis-related enzymes and foreign enzymes to optimize cassava photosynthesis.
