​Joining RIPE this spring as the next science communications intern is Violet Moore! Violet will be working closely with Allie to promote RIPE research as well as taking part in job shadow and career preparation experiences. We’re excited to welcome Violet to the team, watch for her emails as she works on various projects!

Violet is a senior majoring in Astrophysics and plans to graduate this May. She has taken multiple science communication courses and her main hobby outside of school is writing. These experiences mean she is versed in scientific research and has experience interviewing scientists and writing about their work. She is excited to apply these skills to RIPE’s work.

“I’m looking forward to honing my skills in interviewing, science communication, and general nonfiction writing,” said Moore. “I’m also looking forward to gaining knowledge on the RIPE Project and becoming more educated about agricultural research, especially having to do with photosynthesis and climate change.”

Violet has already begun writing team member profiles for the website and will be writing feature stories with a social media element as a couple of her RIPE projects. Please welcome Violet to the RIPE team!
