Guirong Zhang is a technician at RIPE. Her work involves transforming wild-type soybean plants and conducting experiments across various settings, including labs, growth chambers, greenhouses, and field trials. 

Zhang earned her bachelor’s degree in Grassland at the University of Gansu Agricultural, followed by a master's degree in plant physiology and a doctorate in plant pathology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She further developed her expertise in a Postdoctoral position in plant pathology at Illinois. Zhang’s work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals such as Plant Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, and Plant Disease.
