Debarati Basu| | Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge
Debarati Basu is a postdoctoral researcher at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Her research focuses on how to improve crop yield by enhancing plants' photosynthetic efficiency by generating transgenic plants expressing engineered alternative photorespiratory pathways. Debarati received her bachelor’s and master's degrees in botany from Calcutta University in India. She later earned her doctorate in molecular cellular biology at Ohio University and did her postdoctoral research in plant mechanobiology at Washington University in St. Louis before joining Louisiana State University. Her work has been published in journals including PLOS One and the Journal of Experimental Botany.
