I investigate how stomata, microscopic pores on the leaf surface which control carbon dioxide uptake and water use, with the aim of developing crops that photosynthesise more efficiently and use less water.

My research focuses on the regulation of stomatal behaviour, particularly their blue-light responses, and how these can be optimized under dynamic environments. I also examine non-foliar photosynthetic tissues and explore how multiple traits can be stacked to enhance photosynthetic efficiency and resilience in crops.
