Megan Matthews is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Steve Long at the University of Illinois. Her work involves developing computational models to help explore the impacts of a changing environment on plants and to identify methods for improving plant development and growth. As part of the RIPE project, she will be working on improving crop growth models and creating multi-scale models that describe crops at multiple biological levels. Megan earned her bachelor's degree, master's degree, and a doctorate in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. She received a National Physical Science Consortium Graduate Fellowship. Her work is published in several peer-reviewed journals including Nature Communications and Current Opinion in Biotechnology
