Peter Gould
| | Lancaster UniversityPeter Gould is a senior research associate and plant biochemist at Lancaster University. He is working on improving photosynthesis in cowpea and soybean by improving the re-activation of Rubisco via Rubisco activase (Rca) manipulation. He studies the different types of Rubisco activase that are present in these crops to identify which isoforms, if manipulated, will lead to improved photosynthesis. Peter earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry and biotechnology (Hons) and went on to earn his doctorate studying the effect of temperature on the Neurospora circadian clock at the University of Manchester. Since then, he has worked on the regulation of biological signaling by temperature and the single plant cell circadian clock at the University of Liverpool. His work is published in eLife, Molecular Systems, and The Plant Cell.
