Micha Wijesingha Ahchige is a senior research officer at the University of Essex. He researches ways to increase plant metabolism to achieve higher plant yield. For RIPE, he aims to improve RuBP regeneration by transcriptionally increasing the amount of RuBP enzymes in soybean and cowpea. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Cologne, his master’s degree in agrobiotechnology at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, and his doctorate in plant physiology at the University Potsdam. He has been published in both Plant Physiology, and Metabolites.
