Antonio "Tonio" F Chapparo
| | University of California, BerkeleyAntonio “Tonio” F. Chapparo is a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. His objective within the RIPE project is relaxing photoprotection. His work will be focusing on optimizing the photosynthetic capabilities of soybean and cowpea. Using the CRISPR/Cas9 system, he will design and test constructs aimed to alter the expression of genes involved in non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) of soybean and cowpea. He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & Resource Management; Molecular Biology from the University of Washington. Antonio was also involved in the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program! His work has been published in PNAS and The Plant Journal.
