| | Louisiana State University

Jorge Dinamarca was a postdoctoral researcher at Louisiana State University. He studies the carbon dioxide concentrating mechanisms of algae. For the RIPE project, he engineered algal bicarbonate transporters to improve photosynthesis in C3 plants, such as rice and soybeans. Jorge earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in biochemistry at the Universidad de Concepción in Chile. He went on to earn his doctorate in molecular biology at the Universidad de La Frontera in Chile. He studied photosynthesis and lipid metabolism as a postdoctoral researcher at the Weizmann Institute in Israel and Rutgers University in the U.S. His work has been published in The Plant Journal, Journal of Phycology, and PloS One.
