Sarah Rottet is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dean Price at The Australian National University. Sarah is working on algal mechanisms to create cyanobacterial carbon dioxide concentrating mechanisms in C3 crop plants, such as cowpea, soybeans, and rice. Sarah earned a bachelor's degree in biology, a master's degree in plant ecology and physiology, and a doctorate in plant molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Neuchatel (UNINE) in Switzerland—where she also received the Louis Paris Award. Previously, she held a Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Research Plus Postdoctoral Fellowship on the Biocatalysis and Synthetic Biology Team, where she developed technologies to engineer bacterial ABC transporters for synthetic biology applications.
